Description:The final year of the Masters of Architecture program allows students to select an architectural project of interest to themselves, and work with it throughout the year. It is a format that the University of Newcastle has developed over many years, and has come to define and separate our School of Architecture from others in Australia and the world.
Over time, the work presented in the final year exhibition has necessarily changed. With the growing capacity for students to convincingly present their work digitally (often with stunning movies that capture the breadth of the architectural project), the emphasis on large hard copy drawings has diminished. The exhibitions this year reflect some of these changes, being a mix of hard copy framed prints, architectural models, digital projection and design reports in the form of books.
We hope you enjoy the exhibitions in this catalog as we wish these graduating students the very best in the practice of architecture.
