Description:This is the iPad application for all schools using the Empowered online education platform. With this app you can participate fully in your classes including accessing all of your course materials, have discussions with other students, submit assignments, take tests/quizzes and keep in touch with your instructors and support staff.
What's New
Empowered App v1.8 includes new features and changes designed in response to student feedback. The major new feature is a Notifications list, which is available from most screens in the app and displays all Announcements (to the class, generally from the Instructor), Discussion Posts (in relevant course discussions), Study Group Messages, Private Messages from your Instructor, Advice of new Grades, Advice of new Grade Comments and Responses from our Support Team. Look to the upper right of most screens for access to Notifications. In addition, new supporting Settings let you decide which of these message types for which you would also like to have eMail and/or Apple Notifications.The “Gradebook” feature has been overhauled, to more clearly articulate grades and instructor comments, as well as due dates and submission status. It can also be printed or emailed, and tapping on any assignment in the gradebook will take you to that assignment. It is also now possible to respond directly to instructor comments while viewing them in the Gradebook.For the first time, Empowered now offers controls for students who wish to manage our App’s consumption of storage on the iPad. Students who expect to be connected to the internet infrequently may want to increase the amount of course content kept on the iPad, while often-connected student may prefer to reserve more of their iPad’s storage for other things.A few more improvements have been made to our recently-added WRITE feature, notably a word counter and the ability to access submitted work. Confirmation of submissions is expressed with a green checkmark on the assignment. At a student’s suggestion, it is also now possible to print a WRITE assignment.In addition, variety of small defects and potential crash conditions have also been addressed.
